Phillip made 357 appearances for the Quins 1st XV between 1985 and 2003. He has the third highest appearances for a Quins player.
PLAYING RECORD
- A product of the Quins Youth XV
- Played his first game for the 1st XV away at Ystradgynlais on the 14th December 1985.
- Captained the 1st XV on three consecutive seasons between 1991 and 1994 and was also captain in the 1996/97 season.
- He scored a total of 44 tries.
- He scored a hattrick of tries against Tonmawr on the 25th February 1995 and again against Glamorgan Wanderers on the 30th November 1996
- He played in the West Wales Presidents Cup winning team against Pontyberem in April 1992.
- He appeared for the Quins when they won the Tovali Cup against Ystradgynlais in the 1994/95 season.
- He had an uncompromising approach to each game and inspired those who played alongside him.
- Phillip was unanimously chosen by a Jury of 12 ex-players as the Carmarthen Quins Dream Team open-side-flanker in the Quins Dream Team 1950 – 2000. Also selected as the Dream Team Player and Dream Team Captain.
