MICHAEL OWENS

Michael made 117 appearances for the Quins 1st XV in his eight seasons with the club.

PLAYING RECORD

  • Michael played for the Quins Youth XV in seasons 1972/73 & 1973/74.

  • His first appearance for the Quins 1st XV was at the Park against Cardigan on the 2nd

         September 1975.

  • Of his 117 appearances, 80 were League games; 16 Cup and 21 Friendlies.

  • Although he started as a left wing he was equally at home playing at outside-half.

  • He made several appearances with Llanelli RFC.

  • His outstanding pace was used to good effect in any 7’s competition the Quins entered.

  • He played his last game for the 1st XV away to New Dock Stars on the 4th January 1986.

  • Michael was chosen as the Left Wing for the Quins Dream Team 1950-2000.
