Quins flavour to Scarlets’ line-up

Scarlets return to United Rugby Championship tomorrow evening as they welcome Glasgow Warriors to parc y Scarlets, Saturday 29th November, kick-off 19:45.

Experienced Wales international hooker Ryan Elias will make his first appearance of the season as he returns from injury. Centre Eddie James also makes a return to the starting line-up having recovered from injury.

With several of Scarlets’ backs on international duty, with Wales welcoming South Africa to Principality Stadium on Saturday afternoon, many young Scarlets are having an opportunity to make their competitive debuts, including some of our very own!

20-year-old Tenby product Iori Badham, who has made 15 appearances in Quins colours since his debut in March 2024, has been named in the starting XV to take on Glasgow Warriors in a new-look Scarlets backline.

Iori will make his URC as part of a new-look back three alongside full-back Jac Davies and wing Tomi Lewis.

17-year-old Carwyn Leggatt-Jones, who has recently represented Wales Under 19s and has played four games for Carmarthen Quins in this season’s Super Rygbi Cymru, is set to make his senior regional debut from the bench.

Also named on the bench and looking to make his senior regional debut is centre Gabe McDonald. Gabe has made 31 Quins appearances thus far, scoring 8 tries and kicking two conversions.

Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel said: “Having leaders like Josh (Macleod) and Ryan (Elias) back is massive for us and although we are missing a few backs, it gives an opportunity to some exciting young home-grown players in the squad. I’m excited to see how they go.”
