Carwyn Leggatt-Jones gets the game underway at Church Bank, but Quins are immediately penalised from the kick off for an offside infringement.
Llandovery line out inside Quins territory, they get the ball out wide and look dangerous with ball in hand, but a forward pass halts their progress.
It’s a Quins scrum on our own 10m line and the pack turn Llandovery, winning another scrum penalty. We reset. We get the ball out cleanly, it’s passed through the hands, before Steff Evans puts in a grubber kick. Possession is lost and Llandovery make their way back into Quins’ half.
Drovers make a break with a breakaway run from scrum half George Macdonald. He gets over the whitewash chasing the chip kick and believes that he’s touched it down for the opening score. The ball was over the dead ball line, no try.
Minutes later Llandovery are on the move at pace again. The backs looking dangerous with ball in hand on the fast track. Winger Tomi Lewis makes a break down the touchline, puts in a chip kick ahead but it’s too long. We come back for a Quins scrum just beyond our 10m line.
With 10 minutes on the clock, we win turnover ball in Llandovery territory. The ball is worked right to left before coming back in-field. Gabe McDonald with the crash ball in midfield. We hold on to possession.
We return for an earlier infringement on Drovers’ 22, and they see a man sent to the bin. Leggatt-Jones kicks to the corner.
Hooker Lewis Morgan finds Ryan Bean at the top of the lineout. The pack is in motion and Morgan crashes over the whitewash. He’s in touch. Llandovery line out. They manage to clear the ball from their own line. Callum Woolley gathers the ball, passes inside, Evans makes a break in midfield.
Leggatt-Jones puts in a Crossfield kick, Woolley gathers, it’s recycled. Quins remain composed. The ball is worked back in-field, and the forwards keep the pressure on Drovers’ defensive efforts. Morgan spots a gap on the side of the ruck, and he’s over. Leggatt-Jones adds the conversion.

Llandovery come back on the attack in Quins. Iestyn Richards halts their attacking run on our 10m line before Lee Taylor comes in to rip the ball out of Llandovery hands. It’s shipped wide and Jac Howells gets us over the gain line and into Llandovery territory. The home defence scrambles well and they regain possession.
Tensions boil over and the referee addresses both captains. Llandovery have a scrum inside their own half after a Quins knock on. Llandovery get the ball away from the scrum but we’re back for another scrum after Quins intercept. Advantage Quins this time.
A passage of open play ensues. Both teams try and secure aerial advantage. Llandovery come on the attack into Quins territory.
Llandovery have a line out on Quins’ 22. They work through the phases, build momentum with darting runs towards the whitewash. Composure pays dividends as Rhodri Jones crosses under the sticks. Ioan Hughes adds the conversion. It’s 7 points apiece.

A Quins line out just inside Llandovery’s half is secured by Richards. The forwards march onwards before Rhodri Lewis gets the ball away. The ball is shipped right to left, left to right. The pressure is on the home defence. A quick pass left from the ruck by scrum half Lewis and McDonald is there to gather and cross the whitewash with ease. Leggatt-Jones adds the conversion.

The final minutes of the first half see possession change hands routinely, and despite a late attempt by Drovers a knock on halts their attacking run. Jones kicks the ball to touch to bring the first half to a close.

Llandovery open the score in the second half. They build momentum with a scrum penalty. A line out is secured inside Quins’ territory, they build through the phases and inch ever further up field. Quins turnover the ball, but Lewis’ clearing box kick is charged down and Gruff Evans touches down for the five points.

Quins build through phase after phase in Llandovery territory keeping the pressure on the home side. Drovers are penalised for not releasing, Jones kicks Quins to the corner. Morgan, Ryan Bean, Lewys Millin all carry strongly but possession is handed back to Drovers for a crossing offence.
Our defensive effort keeps Llandovery camped in their half for the opening quarter. They break into Quins’ half and edge just metres shy of the whitewash. Jac Davies gets within touching distance of the whitewash, but he’s bundled into touch. We return for an earlier penalty. Drovers take the quick tap. They edge ever closer. We move left. The defensive effort holds strong. The home side are penalised for holding on. Quins clear down field.
Drovers are soon back on the 22 with a penalty advantage. They kick to the corner. The forwards keep the ball close. Bean wins a turnover, but they soon steal it back. A quick tap and go by the home side but they knock the ball on. Millin gets the ball away from the back of the scrum. Jones’ clearing kick is run back before he gathers an interception. He runs from inside his own 22, Woolley is in support on the wing, Jones passes the ball to him and he’s over in the corner!

Loose ball sees a scrappy few minutes of play before Quins win a penalty inside Drovers’ half. Jones steps up and secured a three-point penalty.

Llandovery, just like the Quins at the start of the second half, keep their opposition camped in their own half. Advantage is with them. They take a quick tap from the 22. The ball is shipped left but a miss pass finds touch rather than Llandovery hands.
The homeside finish the second half with possession, continuously hitting the defensive line but Quins hold strong and bundle the attacking player in to touch, and with that bring the game to an end.
