QUINS LEAVE Colwyn Bay EMPTY HANDED

It was another disappointing performance from the Quins as they were unable to consistently fire shots at RGC.

RGC opened the scoring through their Loosehead prop. After a fine move from RGC saw them gaining in the wide channel. A great try saving tackle from centre Ryan Davies wasn’t enough as RGC went over the whitewash in the phase after.

Furthermore, some good play from Quins saw them 10m out from the RGC try line but inaccuracy at the breakdown allowed RGC to gain a turnover. RGC found space in the backfield with the ball bouncing in their favour. RGC managed to hack the ball through and retrieve the ball with their outside half dotting down.

RGC’s third try came from dominant forward play as they pick and go continuously to power over the white wash.

Just before half time, captain Josh Batcup was harshly yellow carded. RGC took advantage of that and scored a well played first phase try with the full back finishing in the corner.

Half time score; RGC 28 – 0 Quins

RGC were first to score in the second half through a penalty goal.

Quins did show some resilience and winger Dylan Richards scored in the left hand corner after some hard work from the Quins forwards.

This time is was winger Iestyn Gwilliam to dot down after some excellent play from number 8 Lewys Millin, offloading ‘out the back door’ to put Gwilliam away in the corner.

RGC had the final say as they powered over in the final moments of the game.

Final Score; RGC 38 – 12 Carmarthen Quins
