Over a hundred former Carmarthen Quins players got together for a reunion at the Clubhouse on Saturday 1stNovember.
Players from as far back as the 1950s, up to more recent times, met for a two-course lunch ahead of the Quins v RGC game at Carmarthen Park. The room was bustling with chat and conversion from 12pm, with players catching up with one another for the first time in many years.
There were former captains, cup winners and club stalwarts in all corners, swapping battle stories, try-scoring exploits and general Quins memories. A fantastic day was had by all.
Organised by Darren Simpson, getting so many former players together was no mean feat but it is agreed that this is the start of something that will be an annual event, at the very least.
Plans are afoot for a former players association, and we hope to share more details soon.
