A return to the Park for Super Rygbi Cymru Cup second round

Action returns to Carmarthen Park this Saturday as we take on Pontypool in the second round of the Super Rygbi Cymru Cup. 54-42

It was Ebbw Vale who took the spoils, 24-7, in the opening round last weekend at Eugene Cross Park. The Gwent side now sit atop of Pool B with six points. Pontypool and Swansea battled it out with the Pooler eventually taking the spoils 32-31.

In Pool A RGC have pride of place at the top of the table having secured a 54-42 home victory over Aberavon. Cardiff lost 40-33 away from home to Llandovery.

Loosehead prop James Newnian will lead the Quins in the cup second round clash. Lewis Morgan returns at hooker for his first outing since October with Ifan James on the tighthead.

Iestyn Wood gets his first start of the season in the second row and links up with the experienced lock Ryan Bean.

Young flanker Taine Morgan takes his place on the blindside with Tom Curry returning to the field for the first time this year. 18-year-old Scarlets Academy member Keanu Evans packs down at number 8.

Scarlets Academy pair Rhodri Lewis and Ellis Payne link up at 9 and 10 with fellow Academy member Gabe McDonald lining up in midfield.

Dylan Richards and Iestyn Gwilliam take their place on the wing, Jac Howells links up with McDonald in midfield with Eilir George at fullback.
