General Club Update

With two games down for the Welsh Football Team the next game is to be held on Sunday 20th June with a 5pm kick off. We are delighted to be able to offer the same beer deals as we have for the previous two games due to their popularity and as a thank you to you our loyal supporters.

This week however, there are some slight differences. Due to the kick off time the usual Sunday evening Bingo slot has been moved to tonight (Friday) with a 6.30pm start.

Tomorrow sees the start of the Under 20s Six Nations and the Welsh Game against Italy will be shown live from 8pm, we are all hoping that our very own Eddie James gets to win his first international cap and become another successful player from our mini and junior section.

As we all know it is Father’s Day on Sunday and it is great to know that all possible tables for Sunday lunch are booked out as people come to enjoy the dinner that is served and it is pleasure to serve you all. As a result of this, space at the football on Sunday afternoon will be on a first come first served basis as we know that many of our supporters will remain after lunch to enjoy  the football.

We hope that the Welsh Football team can progress to the last 16 stage and if they do we will let you know as soon as possible what our future arrangements will be.

Rugby News

We are still waiting final details of the return of our 1st XV but our Youth and Second XV are busy training and hoping to have some games when they can be arranged but as always safety is paramount. We will being you all the news here first when we can.

Our mini and junior section goes from strength to strength with over 160 players now registered across all age groups from Under 7’s to Under 16’s and we have significant interest from players under 6 who will be welcomed to the section when they are able to do so and thus ensuring the future of the club.

Some of our age groups have just maintained training so far but the younger ‘mini’ age groups have had some game time against Cwmgors, Whitland, Cefneithin and Carmarthen Athletic. This continues this week when the Under 11’s host Cwmgors in their first game of contact since February 2020, to say the squad are excited is an understatement and we hope they enjoy their game on Sunday. If you have a child  that would like to try rugby then don’t forget to give us a message on any of our social media channels or email cqrfcsocialmedia@gmail.com

With restrictions across Wales still in place for another 4 weeks we hope that all our supporters be patient and remain safe. It is not long to go now and hopefully some normality when we can meet at the club after watching a game of one of our teams playing.

Take Care and Stay Safe.
