Love is in the air for the opening weekend of the Super Rygbi Cymru Cup

The inaugural Super Rygbi Cymru Cup first round fixtures take place this Saturday, Santes Dwynwen Day, and we’re kicking things off on the road.

With the regular Super Rygbi Cymru league competition taking a hiatus during the 2025 Six Nations campaign, we continue with on-field action in the newly formed cup competition.

How it works

The new Super Rygbi Cymru cup competition has four rounds and a final, with two pools of five clubs each playing two home and two away games. The winners of each pool will play-off in the Cup Final.

The pools and the first round of fixtures are as follows:

Pool A:
RGC
Aberavon
Llandovery
Cardiff
Bridgend

Pool B:
Pontypool
Swansea
Ebbw Vale
Carmarthen Quins
Newport

Cup Round 1:
RGC v Aberavon
Pontypool v Swansea
Llandovery v Cardiff
Ebbw Vale v Carmarthen Quins

On the road

And so, we begin our Cup competition at Eugene Cross Park against Ebbw Vale this Saturday, 25th January.

The team that will take to the field this Saturday in Quins colours is as follows;

15 Eilir George, 14 Ifan Davies, 13 Jac Howells, 12 Ryan Davies, 11 Dylan Richards, 10 Osian Jones, 9 Rhodri Davies (c),

1 Rhys Fawcett, 2 Lewis Jones, 3 Ifan James, 4 Ryan Bean, 5 Lee Taylor, 6 Taine Morgan, 7 Keanu Evans, 8 Lewys Millin

Replacements:
