Carmarthen Park will welcome the return of Carmarthen Quins this Saturday, September 26, with the side taking on Swansea in the third round of the 2026-27 Super Rygbi Cymru campaign.
Quins will be looking to secure their first victory of the season, having suffered defeats to Cardiff and RGC in the opening two rounds.
In addition to the desire to get points on the board, with Quins currently sat in ninth in the tableahead of Saturday’s opponents Swansea, it will also be a special day for two Quins players.
Lock Lee Taylor, who has been an everpresent fixture of the Carmarthen Quins squad for over a decade, will make his 250th appearance on Saturday.
Taylor made his debut for the Quins in September 2014, helping the side secure a victory over Llandovery. He went on to make 25 appearances in his first season at the club and has been a constant in the side for the last twelve seasons.
Shaun Evans, co-captain for the 2026-27 season, also marks his 100th appearance on Saturday having made his debut against Neath in March 2015. Evans leads the side this season alongside fellow former Scarlet Steff Evans.
Carmarthen Quins Director of Rugby Steff Thomas said: “Reaching 250 appearances for any club is a remarkable achievement, and Lee fully deserves the recognition that comes with such a milestone. His commitment, consistency and contribution to Carmarthen Quins over so many years have been outstanding, and he continues to be a hugely respected member of the squad.
“It’s also fantastic to see Shaun reach 100 appearances for the club. Shaun has shown tremendous commitment and leadership, both on and off the field, and to reach this milestone as co-captain makes it even more special.
“Both players represent what Carmarthen Quins is about — loyalty, commitment and pride in the jersey. We’re incredibly proud of what they have achieved and look forward to seeing them add many more memories to their already impressive Quins careers.”
