Team to take on Swansea in televised game

Super Rygbi Cymru action returns to Carmarthen Park this Thursday, 19 March, as we welcome Swansea RFC and S4C’s TV cameras!

The game, which will kick-off at 19:30, sees the return of Super Rygbi Cymru action after the international break and will be televised on S4C Chwaraeon.

Captain Shaun Evans will lead Carmarthen Quins at Carmarthen Park for the Thursday night fixture, and he returns to the openside flank with hooker Lewis Morgan returning from the injury he sustained against Newport in January.

He’s joined in the front row by props Rhys Fawcett and Connor Allen. The experienced duo of Tom Phillips and Lee Taylor link up in the second row, with Scarlets and Wales U20s Osian Williams and Lewys Millin lining up alongside captain Evans in the back row.

Millin’s recent achievement of reaching 200 appearances for the Quins will be celebrated on Thursday evening, as we return to the Park for the first time in several weeks. He first represented the Quins over a decade ago, making his debut against Llandovery in November 2015.

There’s a new half back partnership as Aron Hemmings links up with Scarlets’ Steffan Jac Jones. Hemmings last represented the Quins in April 2023 whilst Jones, who recently represented Wales U20 in the Six Nations campaign, is set to make his Quins debut.

Jones’ fellow Scarlets squad members Thomas Williams and Gabe McDonald return to the wing and centre respectively, with Jac Howells, Ilan Phillips and Eilir George completing the backline.

The evergreen Aled Thomas brings a wealth of experience to the replacements bench.
